MAP exists to assist people on their journey toward the mission field. While each mission agency has its own process for preparing and onboarding new missionaries, MAP is designed to be flexible and general enough to support people from different agencies and backgrounds.
MAP Mentors are passionate about helping individuals discover, prepare for, and fulfil God’s calling on their lives—especially those called to take the Gospel to people who have not yet heard.

- MAP is a structured mentoring journey developed through years of practical ministry and cross-cultural experience.
- MAP is free of charge. However, mentees may be responsible for certain personal expenses, such as books, training materials, internet fees and so on.
- MAP uses checklists to help mentors guide their mentees through different stages of their development. These lists are tools for guidance, not rigid requirements, and is suitable for any mission agency..
- Each mentoring journey begins at the point most appropriate for the mentee’s experience, calling, and stage of preparation.
- Mentoring takes place through face-to-face meetings, emails, video calls, and other online platforms, usually once or twice per month depending on the current phase of the program.
- MAP is designed to guide, encourage, and support — not to control or manage people’s decisions.
- The program follows a gradual “step-by-step” approach, allowing healthy growth and sustainable preparation over time.
- Responsibility for engagement, personal growth, and progress rests primarily with the mentee’s willingness to participate actively, their commitment to apply what they learn, and to take ownership of their journey.
- Participation in MAP is completely voluntary. Mentees are free to pause or withdraw from the program at any stage, with no long-term obligation or commitment.
